Misunderstanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ can cause unnecessary years of anxiety, paralyzing doubt, and hurt one’s ability to experience true peace and freedom. What is needed is a rational prescription for confused believers and unbelievers in a skeptical world.
Jesus often answered a question with a question, which was more powerful than a direct answer. His parables provoked introspection in the mind of the questioner who then realized the answer to the question posed. For example, when the expert in the law asked Jesus "who is my neighbor?" Jesus told him the parable about the Good Samaritan and then he asked the man, "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor?" The man then answered the very question he had just asked Jesus. Jesus didn't answer his question. He illustrated the answer with a vivid telling of an engaging, thought-provoking story with lots of imagery. Jesus is the master storyteller.
