"Go to Church"

Updated: Jul 31, 2022

By Warrior Richardson

Someone once asked me, "How can we get kids to go to church?" I said, "you're asking the wrong question.

What we should be asking is, "how can we get the church to go to kids." At some point in time, we stopped thinking of the church as a people and started thinking of it as a place or, more specifically, a building.

When Jesus said, "upon this rock I will build my church" he wasn't talking about architecture. He was talking about people.

When I look at paintings of the church that were done a few hundred years ago I see people outside talking to people, praying for people and more.

Now, paintings of the church show people inside of a building, singing, praying or some other safe, comfortable activity.

The church is the body of Christ, of which I am a member. We should do just what Jesus told us to do: "Go ye thereforth..."

In this blog I take a close look at a wide variety of topics using the Bible as my lens. When we look at the world through the lens of scripture we discover life-changing truth that transforms us. We discover our identity, purpose and worth. We find answers to life's most pressing questions. “If you don't know where you're going any road will take you there.” But when we look at the world through the lens of scripture we find the "way, the truth and the life;" then we live life to the fullest.
